Atlas for Chrome. While the Atlas side panel is open, the extension reads the text of the page in your current tab and sends it to Atlas to map the page and to answer your questions about it. When you add the page to a project, the text is saved as a source. With a question, it also sends the titles and addresses of your open tabs in the current window, so answers can refer to what you have open. The extension stores your sign-in session, selected project, recent page maps and setup progress on your device. We record product usage events, such as saves and button clicks, to improve Atlas. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.

Atlas in ChatGPT and Claude. When you use Atlas inside ChatGPT or Claude, we receive the text, references and files you ask Atlas to check, and use them only to produce your report. We don't keep them after the check unless you save the report to your Atlas account. Reference details are looked up in public scholarly databases. To apply usage limits, we keep a pseudonymous identifier and basic usage records for 90 days. We don't sell this data. You can delete saved projects in Atlas, and disconnect Atlas in ChatGPT or Claude settings, at any time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
• Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
• Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities

AI and service providers

To answer your questions and process your sources, Atlas sends the content you provide, such as chat messages, uploaded documents, notes, and links, to the AI providers below. They process it to provide these features.

• Google (Gemini API): chat answers, source processing, and summaries
• Anthropic (Claude API): chat answers
• OpenAI: text embeddings, used to search your sources and chats and to build topic maps
• Exa: web search queries, when you ask Atlas to search the web
• Langfuse: AI request monitoring, to diagnose answer quality and errors

We also use these providers to run Atlas:

• Supabase: account, database, and file storage
• Vercel: hosting
• PostHog: product analytics
• Sentry: error reporting
• Stripe, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat: payments and subscriptions

In the Atlas iOS and Android apps, we ask for your permission before sending your content to these AI providers.

4. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
