Knowledge map controls and node types
A knowledge map is a canvas made of nodes and edges. The controls that appear depend on what you select.
Map elements

| File node | A file path and, when available, a section within that file |

| Group | A labeled area containing related nodes |
| Edge | A connection between two nodes, with an optional relationship label and arrow |
Generated text and edge labels summarize the material Atlas used to create the map. Open the source when you need the original wording or evidence.
Selection controls
Selecting map items can show these controls:

| Color | Change the color of selected nodes. |
| Create Group | Place the selected nodes inside a new group. |
| Add to Chat | Add the selection as context for the current chat. |
| Delete Selection | Remove the selected nodes or edges from the map. |
Select a text node or group again to edit its text. Select an edge to edit its label. Drag nodes and groups to reposition them. Resize handles change their dimensions.
Connections
Drag from a node's connection handle toward another node to create an edge. The edge records its direction, endpoint sides, arrow style, color, and label.
Editing a map connection changes the canvas. It does not edit the source or note behind the map.
Canvas navigation
- Drag empty canvas space to move around the map.
- Use the mouse wheel or trackpad to zoom.
- Double-click empty canvas space to create a text node.
- Press Control+Z or Command+Z to undo the latest canvas edit.
