Read and use a semantic map

The semantic map helps you find related sources, notes, and chats in the current project. Use it to locate material, then select an item to open it.

Read the layout

Atlas positions items using the meaning of their stored text. Items that appear near each other have similar content in the current layout. Colored areas and labels help show broader clusters.

Distance is not a citation, strength score, or claim of cause and effect. Open the items when you need to understand why they appear together.

Search and filter the map

1. Select Map settings.
2. Enter text in Search and apply the search.
3. Turn Notes, Sources, or Chats on or off to control which item types appear.
4. Select a matching item to open it.

Clear the search to restore the other visible items.

Cluster the map by an angle

Use Cluster by angle to reorganize the map around a question or perspective.

1. Enter an angle, such as methods used to measure retention.
2. Apply the angle.
3. Wait for Atlas to rebuild the layout.
4. Open the items in a relevant cluster.

Clear the angle to return to the earlier project layout. Select Refresh to recompute the current view.

Move around the map

• Drag to pan.
• Use the mouse wheel or pinch to zoom.
• Right-drag, or hold Shift while dragging, to orbit.
• Use the arrow keys to pan and Shift with an arrow key to orbit.
• Press + or - to zoom.
• Press Home or 0 to fit the map.
• Use Play and Pause to start or stop automatic camera movement.
