Workspace layout

The Atlas workspace keeps project navigation on the left, open research in the center, and chat on the right.

Left panel

The left panel contains the project selector and the main workspace actions: New, Map, and Search. It also lists the project's sources, notes, and chats.

Open a source, note, chat, or folder from this panel. Use the section and item menus to create folders, rename items, or delete items.

Main workspace

The main workspace opens sources, notes, folders, and maps in tabs. Select a tab to return to an open item. Closing a tab removes it from the workspace without deleting the item from the project.

Chat panel

The chat panel stays beside the main workspace on wider screens. You can ask about the current project while reading a source or writing a note, then open a citation to inspect the material behind an answer.

Smaller screens

On a narrow screen, Atlas shows navigation and workspace content in a mobile layout instead of keeping every panel visible at once. Open the menu to move between project items and actions.
