Data, privacy, security, and retention
Atlas stores the account and project data needed to provide the service. Product documentation explains operational behavior. the Privacy Policy is the legal owner for collection, processing, retention, and request terms.
What this page covers
Operational account-data guide that links legal policies and explains storage purpose, provider processing, retention, deletion, request paths, and supported export boundaries without unsupported promises.
How research data is used
Projects can contain sources, extracted text, notes, chats, citations, maps, and related files. Atlas and its service providers process this material to run the features you request. Network search and remote-source actions can send a query or public URL to the relevant provider.
Protect your account and research
Use an account you control. Do not share authentication links or secrets. Confirm the current project before adding sensitive material or authorizing an MCP client. Revoke integrations you no longer use.
Deletion, retention, and requests
Use the documented account-deletion flow for the shipped self-service action. Subscription cancellation and account deletion are separate. For a privacy or data request not available in the product, use the contact path in the Privacy Policy or contact support. Atlas documentation cannot report live account state or promise an export format that the product does not provide.
