Atlas creates a short summary from the source text it processed. Use the summary to decide whether the source is relevant and where closer reading may be useful.

Use a summary to decide what to read

Open a processed source and read the summary above its contextual chat. It can surface the source's central idea, context, significance, approach, and considerations.

Use that overview to choose the next passage or section to read. If the summary omits the part of the source you need, open the source rather than asking the summary to stand in for it.

Verify important claims in the original source

The summary reflects the text Atlas extracted. It can omit a qualification, simplify a method, or miss information that appears only in an image or inaccessible part of the source.

Open the original passage before relying on a number, method, limitation, or conclusion. If the summary is missing, check whether source processing has finished.
