Ask a grounded question

Ask Atlas a question about the research in your current project. The answer can include citations that open the supporting material.

Ask a question

1. Open the project that contains your research.
2. Select Start a chat, or open an existing chat.
3. Enter your question in Ask a question.
4. Select Send.

For example, ask: "What limitations does this paper report?" or "How do these sources explain the same result differently?"

Name the material you mean

Atlas can search the current project for relevant material. If your question refers to a particular source, note, chat, or folder, type @ and select it from the list. The mention is added to your question.

Use mentions when similarly named items could make your question unclear. See Use mentions in chat and notes for the complete procedure.

Check the answer

Open a citation beside a claim you want to check. Compare the cited material with the answer, including any qualifications in the surrounding text.

If the answer used the wrong material, mention the source you intended and ask again. If a response stops or a citation is missing, use Troubleshoot chat and citations.

Keep new retrieval inside your project

Choose Project only beside + before sending. Atlas can use your project and the text or attachments you supply, but cannot run web or literature search. Earlier conversation context remains available, including any outside evidence already in the chat. See Tool scope.
